Ranger Nation: Investing in Crosby-Ironton Schools
November 2025 Operating Levy Referendum
At Crosby-Ironton Schools, we are proud to provide a high-quality education to our local kids. From strong academics to hands-on career and technical opportunities, we are dedicated to preparing every student for a successful future.
Like many districts across Minnesota, we face growing financial challenges due to the rising cost of education, inflation, and underfunding from the state. Unlike 70% of Minnesota school districts, we do not have a voter-approved operating levy to help fund day-to-day school operations.
Following unsuccessful referendums in 2023 and 2024, we made more than $1 million in budget cuts—reducing teaching positions, support staff, electives, and extracurriculars. Even with these reductions, our district faces a $1 million shortfall that is projected to grow to $1.5 million within five years without new funding.
On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, district voters will again consider an operating levy that would stabilize our budget, protect classroom learning, and keep the high-quality education our community expects and our students deserve. We don’t make this request lightly. Without new funding, we cannot sustain quality education in our district.
